Avian Influenza

Under the current AI restrictions, we believe that falconers should assess carefully their own circumstances when making decisions about continuing flying their birds of prey. Be particularly careful about travel to and from hawking grounds because AI restrictions can intersect with those aimed at controlling Covid 19. We all need to be vigilant, respect and communicate regularly with our landowners, avoid flying wildfowl, and keep away from poultry farms and bird collections. Please be mindful that your behaviour reflects on all falconers and we must respect public opinion. Please watch out for updates from DEFRA and APHA, as well as from the Hawk Board and your Clubs.
