6 November 2025

Two cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed as follows:

• in a small non-commercial poultry flock near Kirkham, Fylde, Lancashire.

• at a third premises near Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire.

A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone have been put in place around each premises. Further information about these cases and the latest information is available on GOV.UK: www.gov.uk/birdflu and GOV.Wales: www.gov.wales/birdflu.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is now in place across England and an AIPZ with mandatory biosecurity measures remains in force across Great Britain.

All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures in addition to following any Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area to prevent future outbreaks.

Please check the disease control zones on our avian influenza interactive map https://www.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html... to see what restrictions are in place.
