Proposal to issue amendment for falconry licence to hunt Mountain Hares in Scotland rejected at Stage 2 of Natural Environment Bill

The amendment was debated at the Scottish Rural Affairs & Islands Committee meeting on 19 November 2025. Hawk Board lobbied hard in support of this amendment which has sadly been rejected. There is a chance that the amendment could return at Stage 3.
