Defra - Avian Influenza Latest Situation
5 November 2025
Two cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed as follows:
• in a small commercial poultry flock near Corby Glen, South Kesteven, Lincolnshire
• in captive birds near Preesall, Wyre, Lancashire.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is in place across areas of England extending to the whole of England on the 6 November 2025, and an AIPZ with mandatory biosecurity measures is also in force across Great Britain: http://www.gov.uk/.../bird-flu-regional-avian-influenza....
All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures as detailed on GOV.UK: www.gov.uk/birdflu and follow any housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area that apply to prevent future outbreaks.
