Defra - Avian Influenza Latest Situation

Three further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 have been confirmed as follows:

• a commercial poultry premises near Thirsk, Thirsk and Malton, North Yorkshire

• in captive birds near Danehill, Wealden, East Sussex

• a commercial poultry premises near Crediton, Mid Devon, Devon.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is in place across areas of England and an AIPZ with mandatory biosecurity measures is also in force across Great Britain http://www.gov.uk/.../bird-flu-regional-avian-influenza....

All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures as detailed on GOV.UK: www.gov.uk/birdflu and follow any housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area that apply to prevent future outbreaks.
