Defra - Avian Influenza Latest Situation

Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 has been confirmed in a large commercial poultry unit near Woodbridge, East Suffolk, Suffolk.

A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone have been put in place around the premises. Check GOV.UK for further information: www.gov.uk/birdflu.

An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures is in place in England and an AIPZ with mandatory biosecurity measures is also in force across Great Britain: http://www.gov.uk/.../bird-flu-regional-avian-influenza....

All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures as detailed on GOV.UK: www.gov.uk/birdflu and follow the housing measures/Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions in their area that apply to prevent future outbreaks.
